TYPES OF VISIT VISA'S IN INDONESIA

Visitation Visa or Visit Visa is a visa issued for a foreign citizen bearer of a regular passport who wishes to visit Indonesia for a short period of time which doesn’t involve paid-working activities. If you’d like to visit Indonesia, you may need to read this article as we will talk about Indonesian visit visas thoroughly.

Indonesian visit visa policy was very lenient before the Covid-19 pandemic, meaning that Indonesia used to waive a visa fee for the majority of nationalities coming to the country. A waived-fee visa is called an Exemption Visa . There are 169 countries who are eligible for an Exemption Visa, however this type of visa is still suspended until further notice due to the pandemic. Thus, if you are from a non-list country of Exemption Visa, you must apply for an Indonesian Tourist Visa prior to departure. Next, there is a Visa on Arrival (VoA). VoA is eligible for 68 countries with visa fee required. The question is “why bother applying for a Visa on Arrival (VoA) when we can get an Exemption Visa?”. The answer is Exemption Visa strictly cannot be extended and only valid for 30 days stay. If you know from the beginning that you are planning to stay longer than 30 days, you should apply for VoA because it can be extended with an additional fee. Here are the keynotes to sum up about Exemption Visa and Visa on Arrival:

Another type of visit visa which allows you to stay longer than 60 days is called Single-Entry Visa. Under this visa, you are eligible to stay in Indonesia for up to 180 days (6 months) on one time entry only, meaning that every extension will be done onshore. Then, Indonesia also has a Multiple-Entry Visa which is known by its name for those foreign travellers who wish to come frequently to Indonesia with more ease.
