Spouse KITAS (E31A)

The Spouse KITAS (E31A) is a residence permit specifically designed for foreigners married to Indonesian citizens who wish to live in Indonesia. To apply for this visa, you must be legally married in Indonesia. This visa provides an initial stay of 1 year, with the option to extend it. After extending your KITAS four times, you can change it to a KITAP (Permanent Stay Permit) for a longer duration.

Foreigners can use this KITAS for:

  • Residing in Indonesia with their Indonesian spouse.
  • Traveling to and from Indonesia as many times as needed.
  • Conducting tourism-related activities or visiting family and friends.

If you’re a Spouse KITAS holder, you are eligible to work in Indonesia. However, you must first apply for a Work Permit to be employed legally.

Documents Required From Applicant:

  • Copy of passport biodata page (minimum 6-month validity)
  • Copy of bank statement from the sponsor showing a minimum balance of USD 2000 for the last 3 months
  • Recent colored passport-size photos
  • Scan of foreigner domicile certificate (Surat Domisili)

Documents Required From Sponsor

  • Copy of the sponsor’s marriage deed
  • Copy of the sponsor’s Dukcapil/KUA marriage certificate (CNI letter)
  • Copy of the sponsor’s KTP showing “married” status
  • Copy of the sponsor’s family card showing “married” status
  • Copy of the sponsor’s birth certificate
  • Copy of foreign domicile certificate (KANIM process)
  • Copy of sponsor domicile certificate (if KTP is from outside Bali) – KANIM process

Steps to Get Spouse KITAS (E31A):

  1. Prepare all required documents for the Spouse KITAS application.
  2. Send all documents to Visa Station.
